Youth Education

“Our Mission is not to entertain the children, but to call them out. To be always entertained is to be dwarfed and dependent. To be called out is to follow the harmonious law of the soul’s enfoldment. Who meddles with the rosebud? What fingers are deft enough to pry open that marvel of unfolded beauty? We are wise enough to leave it alone to follow the glad law of its unfolding, but our children! Have we dealt wisely with these buds of marvelous possibilities? Have we always remembered that they, too, must quicken and unfold through the innate law of their genius?”

Myrtle Fillmore, Co-founder of the Unity Movement

Overview
Youth Education is offered only during the 11:00 service. Classes include: - Uniteenies: ages 2-5
- Uniyess: ages 5-10
- Uniteens: ages 10-13
- Y.O.U.: ages 13-18

A quiet room in the back of sanctuary offers parents and their children 2 and under away to hear the Sunday service without interrupting the congregation.

Our youth education classes are designed to be empowering, fun and interactive. But most importantly, we want each child to feel special and to always know that they are a child of God. We teach the Unity message and principles in a language that fits each age group.

YOU Education

YOU
YOU welcomes anyone ages thirteen to eighteen on a quest for Truth and self exploration. This year we are focusing on spiritual exploration through hands on experiences in areas like yoga, reiki, Tai Chi, toning bowls, labyrinths and more. YOUers may participate in 2 regional weekend rallies every year and one regional weeklong retreat in the summer. Pre-requisite for rallies and retreats is a consistent attendance record and a number of hours community service. The YOU room is located in the north hall (right side) of Hightower Hall.

The Quiet Room
A place in which you can take part of service in an enclosed quiet room situated in the back of the sanctuary. Newborns to two years and parents are welcome here. This facility offers a place where you and your little one can be together but yet not separate from the service. There are rocking chairs, a changing table, a baby swing, a bouncy and lots of age appropriate toys.

Guidelines for Parents and Children

To make your journey here a little more at ease there are many love efforts and measures provided for youand your child’s safety and happiness. We’ve made sure every security measure has been implemented. A background check is completed for each teacher.

Parents sign their children in to the Sunday class and sign them out after the service. To ensure their safety, no child under the age of 12 must be left anywhere else in the church or on the church grounds without the supervision of an adult.

Only individuals with permission are allowed to drop and pick up each child. Check in sheets are used to sign in and out each child. Medical conditions such as allergies are kept on file as well as emergency information.
