Each memorial is especially designed to appropriately honor and celebrate the individual who has made their transition.  Family members meet with the Senior Minister for prayer and support.  Details of the service are supported during this meeting as well as music, scripture, and other special readings.  Two sample poems, “The Traveler” and “Indian Prayer” are listed on this page for your reference.  Often used Scriptures and prayers include Psalm 23, the Lord’s Prayer and the Prayer for Protection.

Indian Prayerindian prayer

Do not think of my death and weep.
I am not lost.  I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not think of my death and weep.
I am not lost.  I do not sleep.

Prayer for Protection

The light of God surrounds us. The love of God enfolds us. The power of God protects us, The presence of God watches over us, Wherever we are, God is, And All is well.     - James Dillet Freeman
